This event brought together Thailand’s leading economic agencies, including the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT), the Board of Investment of Thailand (BOI), and the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), to present investment opportunities in Thailand to Chinese investors, reinforcing Thailand’s potential as the investment hub of the region. The event welcomed strong participation from industry associations and government agencies from both countries.

The participation of Ubon Ratchathani Industrial Estate marked an important occasion to showcase its potential as a new Green Industrial Estate in Northeast Thailand. The estate offers strategic advantages as a Gateway to CLMV and Southern China, cost competitiveness, and readiness in both renewable energy and abundant water resources.

Key Highlights:

  • Abundant & Low-Cost Water Resources — With a reservoir capacity exceeding 15 million cu.m. and an industrial water supply system of 55,000 cu.m./day, the estate is ideally suited for water-intensive industries such as PCB Board, Semiconductors, and Food Processing.
  • Clean Energy — Featuring Solar Floating projects within the industrial estate, complemented by the Sirindhorn Dam Hydro–Solar Hybrid Project (45 MW, one of the world’s largest) in Ubon Ratchathani, which serves as a key source of clean energy for Thailand. This ensures renewable power stability to meet both electricity demand and ESG requirements of global investors.Cost Competitiveness — Land, labor, water, and electricity costs are significantly lower than in the EEC.
  • BOI & IEAT Incentives — Corporate income tax exemptions of up to 13 years, land ownership rights, and facilitation of visa/work permits for foreign experts.

Mr. Natawatana Lerdsurawitaya, Managing Director of Ubon Ratchathani Development Co., Ltd., said:
“One of the clear advantages of Ubon Ratchathani Industrial Estate is the abundant and low-cost water supply, which ensures stable support for water-intensive industries such as PCB Board and Semiconductors. At the same time, our commitment to clean energy— through both Solar Floating and the Sirindhorn Dam Hydro–Solar Hybrid Project— strengthens our capability to meet electricity demand while aligning with ESG expectations of international investors.”

This participation reaffirmed the estate’s positioning as a “Smart Green Industrial Hub of ASEAN”, ready to attract new investments and strengthen long-term Thailand–China cooperation.
